So What’s With the Market?

Actually, that is much of the reason. Computer trading has replaced much of the trading that humans used to do. I’m going to cover a certain nefarious type that I really didn’t want to cover. I’ve known about it for a long time. Much like when I tackled the topic of Credit Default Swaps in 2006, I really didn’t want to try to explain it but I did. Sometimes there’s a limit to blood and gore.

Once again I attended the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting. That means getting to the Qwest Center at 5:45 in the morning to wait until the doors open at 7:00 to get a good seat. There were 37,000 people there and many of them end up in overflow rooms.

Just how many ways are there to cut 1% off of GDP growth?

 Note: I’m not referring to GDP for just one year. I’m talking about cutting a percent off of GDP growth going forward.
